Dot Sexual is educational information, not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Read the limits and emergency guidance before relying on a page.

Dot Sexual publishes general educational information about sexual health, bodies, relationships, products and health services. It is not a medical service.

Nothing on Dot Sexual is medical advice, a diagnosis, a prescription or a treatment plan for you. Reading a page, subscribing, commenting or submitting a question does not create a doctor–patient or therapist–client relationship.

Use a qualified professional for personal care

Only a qualified clinician who can take your history, examine you when needed and review your medicines, allergies, test results and medical conditions can advise you personally. A pharmacist may also be the right professional for medicine-label and interaction questions.

Do not delay care because a general article sounds reassuring. Symptoms that are severe, unusual, persistent, worsening or frightening deserve direct assessment.

Emergencies

Call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department. If you may act on thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, contact local emergency services or a crisis line now. For non-emergency routes to qualified care, see Talk to a real clinician.

Your own instructions come first

After a procedure, birth, fertility treatment, operation or hospital visit, your discharge sheet and treating team know facts a website cannot. Your own written instructions override a general Dot Sexual timeline. If two sources differ, ask the team responsible for your care rather than choosing the shorter wait.

Medicine and product information

  • General discussion of a medicine, supplement, device or test is not a recommendation to start, stop, combine or change it.
  • Follow the current product label, manufacturer instructions and professional advice that applies to you.
  • Product specifications and standards can show what an item is made of or how it is sized; they cannot guarantee that it is suitable, effective or risk-free for a particular person.
  • Home or laboratory test information must be interpreted with the test instructions, timing and, where appropriate, a clinician or accredited laboratory.

No clinician reviewer is claimed

Dot Sexual has no doctor or medical reviewer on staff. We cite published guidelines and studies so readers can inspect the evidence, but citation does not turn a general explainer into personal medical advice.

Links to clinics, helplines, laboratories, brands and government services are provided for information. Dot Sexual does not control their availability, quality, fees, privacy practices or clinical decisions and does not endorse a provider unless a page explicitly says so with a stated basis.

Adults only

Dot Sexual is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not a sexual-health service for minors. A minor who needs help should use an age-appropriate, expert-led health or safeguarding service and a trusted adult or professional.
